Antisemitic Conspiracy Theorist Briahna Joy Gray Finally Fired By The Hill
The host of "Rising" was fired after months of spewing antisemitic tripe, rape denial, and pro-Hamas talking points during her show and on her social media accounts.
Briahna Joy Gray, a far-left former spokesperson for the Bernie Sanders campaign in 2020 turned media pundit, was finally fired by The Hill and their main program “Rising” after months spewing antisemitic and anti-Israel propaganda, as well as overtly denying the events of October 7 and the atrocities of that day.
The final straw appears to have been an interview this week that she conducted with the sister of a female Israeli hostage, who told Gray, “I really hope that you specifically will believe women when they say they got hurt”. Gray responded with an exaggerated eye roll and loud sigh, and cut off the interviewee’s final comments to sign off. The disrespectful interview drew massive backlash, and Gray announced on X two days later on Thursday evening that she had been fired, saying The Hill “has a clear pattern of suppressing speech -- particularly when it's critical of the state of Israel.”
She can make a martyr of herself like her heroes in Hamas, but for the past 8 months Gray hasn’t been criticizing Israel: she’s been supporting terrorism and legitimizing war crimes, and this firing was a long time coming.
On October 13, 2023, Gray claimed there were no babies killed or abused by Hamas, and she denied any occurrence of rapes, stating it was all fabricated. She compared Israel to Hamas, alleging ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, long before Israel had initiated its ground invasion of Gaza.
On December 4, Gray tweeted, “Zionists are asking that we believe the uncorroborated eyewitness account of men who describe alleged rape victims in odd, fetishistic terms. Shame on Israel for not seriously investigating claims of rape and collecting rape kits.” The United Nations has published reports proving Hamas perpetuated mass rapes and sexual violence on their Israeli victims.
She also said “Believe all women” was always an absurd overreach: women should be heard, claims should be investigated, but evidence is required. The same is true of the allegations out of Israel. But also, this isn’t a “believe women” scenario because no female victims have offered testimony.” Most of Hamas’s victims were murdered or taken hostage, conveniently for Gray’s ignorant head-in-the-sand claims.
Her antisemitic anti-Israel sentiments weren’t only limited to rape denial, and she has been a source of major tension at The Hill since the war began following Hamas’s invasion.
On February 29, 2024: Gray falsely tweeted, “Israel blocked food to Gaza and then shot Palestinians as they waited for food.” However, reports show there were warning shots initiated by the IDF, and a stampede ensued in which Palestinians tragically died after swarming aid trucks in Gaza.
On March 13, 2024: In response to the possible shutdown of TikTok over security concerns, Gray tweeted, “A foreign government is influencing the 2024 election. I’m not talking about China, but Israel,” perpetuating the antisemitic trope of Jewish control.
On April 30, 2024: Gray tweeted, “A small fringe should not be ruining things for everyone else” in reference to the “Israel lobby,” hinting once again at Jewish control over the government or other sectors in society, which has led to violence against the Jewish community.
She also cheerled the antisemitic encampments on college campuses and the intimidation of Jewish students, during their April heyday.
In response to a Jewish student giving an account of his assault, Gray tweeted: “I’m sorry, which Penn professor exactly is he alleging said: ‘you’re a dirty little Jew, you deserve to die’? If you heard a professor saying this, you should name them so there are consequences. If you didn’t hear a professor saying this, it’s a pretty disgusting lie.”
Gray tweeted, “College protestors never called for the genocide of Jews. A Jewish state, however, has spent the last 2 months perpetrating a genocide in Gaza with US funding.”
Additionally, Gray claimed during a debate just over a week ago that all Hamas wants is to live in secular democracy, and that their not anti-Jewish. Her ridiculous arguments during the debate led to laughter from her opponents and mocking from the crowd. Afterwards, she stormed out and had a meltdown and began fighting with the moderator on X.
After months of absurdly tolerating her pro-terror propaganda, The Hill finally made the right choice last night. Now Saagar Enjeti needs to do the same and dump his antisemitic Breaking Points co-host Krystal Ball.
